The Rose Decor Styling process
We chat on the phone or meet for a drink, I find out all your floral dreams and desires and discuss your wedding as a whole.
We exchange lots of ideas via WhatsApp (this is my preferred method of contact as I like to be super informal, but by all means, we can move it to email if you would prefer)
I then work out and provide you with a proposal quote based on the designs and flowers we have agreed on.
You then have 14 days to decide if you wish to accept the quote and book me as your wedding floral designer.
I require a 25% non-refundable booking fee and a signed booking form and Terms & conditions to secure your wedding date.
If I have not worked at your wedding venue before, I will arrange to attend your venue, take measurements and work out my surroundings.
All of your flowers are pre-ordered to ensure that the varieties and quantities needed are secured for your wedding. The flowers arrive tight-budded and most of them are dehydrated from the long journey from the farm to the wholesaler. I condition each stem individually so your blooms are hydrated, blossoming and ready to be used. This means trimming stems, cleaning thorns, pealing off guard petals, cleaning up all the cuttings, preparing vases and other vessels.
The day prior to your wedding you will find me in full-on design and preparation mode as I make all of your centrepieces and ceremony arrangements.
Your wedding day is an early start and I'm in for a long day. I prepare your bouquets, buttonholes and head to your venue.
If I am creating an ‘on the day’ design then I may have freelance florists helping me create your installation.
I will set your floral centrepieces and ensure your tables look nothing short of amazing.
I will add all the finishing touches to your ceremony room and I will ensure everything looks perfect.
When you hire a floral designer, you get so much more. I provide style with flowers. I am not just delivering bouquets.
You get the peace of mind that nothing short of luxurious blooms will show up beautifully presented on your special day.
Please be advised that I have a minimum spend of £2,000.
Cost of flowers
I do not have a floral menu, all my designs are bespoke and individual to you and your wedding. Generally, most couples will budget about 7-10% of their overall wedding budget for flowers. Flowers are usually one of the later budget items that are sought out in the wedding planning scheme. However, I really don’t want to have to explain that your floral desires are not achievable with the flower budget you have decided on.
Not all flowers cost the same and therefore the price of designs may vary dramatically based on your floral selection.
As a reference, carnations, some roses and hydrangeas are on the lower end of floral prices; ranunculus, anemones and spray roses are mid-range; and garden roses, peonies, orchids and sweet pea are in the high range. Seasonal availability also can affect prices. Flowers that are going out of season and are difficult to source or that are in high demand (for example roses around Valentine’s day) will be more expensive.
If flowers are an important aspect of your day, (and I hope you have come to me because they are) then 10-15% of your overall wedding budget is the estimated price you should expect to pay.
If you are seeking Pinterest-perfect designs, with floral saturation everywhere, then you may need as much as 25% of your overall budget.
If you are obtaining more than one quote, please ensure that you know exactly what you are comparing. Ask how many stems of the focal flowers you can expect in your arrangements that is being quoted to you. It isn’t always about the lowest quote, without knowing the exact recipe or design that your florist is using, it is difficult to compare a second quote. My advice to you is to focus on finding a florist who fits seamlessly with your own aesthetic, one who has done designs before that you have fallen in love with. I always advise you to just be honest and talk to me about any price concerns you have. I will revise your proposal and quote as many times as we need to, in order to fulfil your floral vision.
